There are over 7.5 billion people in the world, 2.32 billion on facebook, 1.9 billion users on YouTube, 500 million daily active user on Instagram, and I could go on and on…So, why is it that we care SO MUCH about the 1 or 2 punks or people in our lives that are so judgmental?

I am writing this post because is this part of our journey. We acquired Click Engine in February and are just now getting around to launching our content and social media marketing.

I’ve met so many people who want to start a business, blog, podcast, or name it but years later they have nothing to show. Now they live with regret and the “what if”.

So, yeah…what if? What if you through yourself out there. What are you going to loose? Is embarrassment or the fear of failure really holding you back? …probably but just admit it.

Admit that your perfectionism isn’t perfectionism but rather your fear of failure and insecurities. If that is true for you then what do you fear most? Spending 10 years wasting your time dreaming about what you want to do and fail by not putting yourself out there or putting in the work and fail trying?

I love my dad and he has always been an incredible role model with the hardest work ethic and strength I’ve ever seen. His words above were so piercing in the moment but has really changed my live. His words speak so true and I hold onto this and remind me every day how foolish it is to try to measure up to other peoples opinions.

Finally, here are the 5 secrets to social media marketing!

1. Cover your ears! Ignore all feedback and focus on the conversations

That’s right! Ignore all the feedback. The praises and the shut downs. In the beginning it doesn’t matter how many people hate or love your posts. The most important part here is that you just execute and not focus on the feedback. Once your get your habits and engine rolling and pushing regular content THEN and only THEN should you watch how people respond to your posts and increase your efforts in the successes and decrease where engagement is low.

2. Stop the stinkin' thinkin' and get out of your own head

Over thinking and trying to create the best post actually converts at a lower rate than speaking your mind. The only thing worse than over perfecting a post is analysis paralysis and not posting at all. Here is a thought: make your first 10 posts the worst you can come up so that you can follow up with any post that will be better than the first 10.

3. Document. Don’t create. ~ Gary Vaynerchuk

So, when I say to put out those 6-7 meaningful pieces of content a day, just pick up your smartphone, open Facebook Live, and just start talking about the things most important to you. Because in the end, the creative (or how “beautiful” someone thinks your content is) is going to be subjective. What’s not subjective is the fact that you need to start putting yourself out there and keep swinging.

~ Gary Vaynerchuk

I really don’t need to say any more than that.

4. Keep it real...positive

It’s important to keep your content real and authentic. Polished content and and fake content is obvious even if it drives engagement. Fake news and “click bait” is a real thing but you can’t afford your brand to fall into this category. Don’t oversell yourself but be confident. Be vulnerable, transparent, and honest with your audience. Throughout all still DON’T COMPLAIN and stay positive and enlightening.

5. Publish as much as possible

Never before in our history can you reach so many people for absolutely free! BILLIONS and I mean BILLIONS of people are on social media and they love a good creative and story. The more content you publish today will build your brand equity and the only investment from you is your time. Like, comment, and direct message your audience and when they comment on your stuff be fast to thank them and reply back! People are on social media to be social…so be social! Be the loudest and proudest brand offering your love, appreciation, and attention that so many crave. People are literally on social media right now anticipating your engagement with them. So start now!

Start posting now!

Conclusion

This might not be the post you expected but trust me this is the best advice you’ll ever read because those who execute and put in the work will succeed above everyone else wasting their time about their next post. Whether you manage a large brand or a new startup recognize that social media has the greatest ROI for marketing in the history of advertising and marketing, BECAUSE ITS FREE!f
